PROJECTS

PUBLICATIONS    |    PAINTINGS N' PRINTS    |    PRINTABLES    |    PRODUCTS    |    PROJECTS    |    PHOTOGRAPHY

"Moon Gazer" and "Star Chaser"

This two-set painting, still in-progress, is based on a picture my youngest son took while studying at college in the Adirondacks. An "add-on" to the "Cat Skyline" series.

"Cat Skyline"

2020.  This series, or set of paintings was  created based on a photograph my oldest son  took while on a trip to New York City.  When I first saw the photo, having never visited myself, I thought it was from his hotel window and the steel was part of the architecture. Turns out it was steel from a bridge they were crossing.

Currently they are in the process of being formatted for purchase. In-between everything else I am working on.

Playing with Resin

2024. I made this ocean frame set for my best friend, she's a toes in the beach than a snow on her nose kind of girl.

It actually incorporates two different mediums that I have been wanting to play with; sea glass and resin.  The art backing was sealed to the picture frame and the sea glass, shells and turtles where artfully placed using a resin like glue before pouring resin over the top and sealing in the ocean scene. I didn't pour all the way to the top edge of the frame, only to the inner beveled edge leaving part of the turtle backs and larger shells exposed for more of a 3D, hands-on art piece.

Part One...

2023. This little "Alice in Wonderland" door is made using a paper mache technique. When completed it will actually be "flush" with the baseboard. I am still researching the best way to attach it to the wall -so that it is removable, should I ever need to move.

This is part one of the two paper mache art pieces I plan to use to complete this wall mural along the outer side of the staircase -giving it a 3D look. This wall mural is one of many I hope to complete over the next few years in the house.

Gargoyle Embrace

2023. From my personal collection. This is my favorite painting to date.

I know I'm dating myself, but if you were a child in the 80's you might remember the "Gargoyles" TV series. One of my top 5 favorites from childhood.  This painting is a re-creation from another artist -done in my style, so it's not available for sale.  Oh, and the moon, in the background has a silver shimmer on it that can be seen when the light hits it just right. It shines like moon itself. Love it!

Batman and Cat Woman

I sculpted and painted these figurines, using an oven-dry clay, for my wedding in 2023. It's a two piece cake topper.

My husband's favorite superhero is Batman and while I originally tried to create Captain Marvel as my representation... it didn't turn out as I would have liked and I finally trashed it to start over. Considering I wear glasses, and batman and cat woman "hook up," cat woman was a good alternative. In the end, I think it turned out purr-fect.

Personal Projects / Paintings

2020. Batman (DC)

2021/2024 Ahsoka (Star Wars)

2022. Hulk and Wolverine (Marvel /X-Men)

2023. Mel / Firefly (TV series/movie)

2024. Jon / Green Lantern (not shown)

Every year I create a new painting for my husband -for his birthday. It allows me to work outside of my comfort zone, challenging me every step of the way.  Ahsoka was actually done twice, I trashed the first one last year when I finally decided it was time to re-do it -entirely. My 2024 Green Lantern is not shown, while I completed it, I am not happy with the skin tone -it's too one color-ish. I have an idea to fix it but have not had a chance to adjust it. As for the 2025 painting, my goal is to do a Mandalorian... details to be determined. I've sketched it but I have learned over the years that sometimes that means nothing. LOL

Every year I swear I will never do another because they frustrate me, but every year I set about making sketches to make another.

Death Star

Originally this "Death Star" was supposed to be a pinata for my son's birthday... but the idea of smashing it didn't sit well. Especially after all the hours I put into it. Instead, I ended up buying a basic pinata for him and his friends to beat, and I gave this one a dowel and a base. It was made using a $1 kids bouncy ball coated in paper mache.
