Creative Expressions

My time spent working on sketches, or simply scribbling my thoughts and thinking, is time spent both in my sanctuary and my prison. It is time spent where I am most comfortable and yet where I rarely escape from. 

I have been known to bleed ink, bruise in shades of charcoal and break out in splotches of acrylic colors. Plagued with a need to write, draw… create, in some form or fashion, I use my art and authoring as a way to express myself, exposing layers of myself. Each piece I create is a piece flaked off revealing more and more of my authentic self. Every detail, even in my simplest pieces, is there intentionally. And while I don’t have a favorite medium, always choosing the medium that best fits in the moment, there is no mistaking that “pen n’ ink” is my most used form of creative expression. 

Art is many things, to many people. It is words, it is paintings, it is dance, music, jewelry, architecture…. It is how we creatively express ourselves. My art and authoring, like any art form or piece, is based on perception, interpretation and individual experiences. And what you think you know or understand about it today, may not be what you feel for it, or see within it, five or even ten years down the road.
